RASTER vs VECTOR
What is raster?

Raster images are also bitmap images.Raster images is made of thousands dots or pixel. It is measured in pixels. Raster images are full-color images like photographs. Raster images are often large files.Raster images are used in web and print. Raster images became blurry when it blown up.Raster images cannot be made larger without affecting the quality.

What is vector?

Vector images are small files. Vector images do not use pixels. Vector images display at the highest resolution.Vector images cannot display the natural qualities of photographs.Vector images are scalable. So we can put designs in a vector images.

Its all about Photoshop...

Today, November 20,2013, In our subject principles of designs and color theory, Sir Rey Mendoza discussed to us about the basic settings of the photoshop and he also discussed to us about the color settings. He explain how to set the settings in photoshop. He also discussed to us the keyboard shortcuts in the photoshop. Ctrl+K for preferences. In preferences, its includes the general, interface, file handling, performances, cursors, transparency&gamut, units& rulers, guides,grids&slices,plug-ins and types. He explain each of them.  He most explain about the RGB colors. He said it can combine 16.8m colors. In history states the maximum number is 99 so that the photoshop won't lag or hang. Cache is the temporary memory in every computers. History log is also like a undo button. We can undo the things we did by using the history log. Memory usage is about the brightness of the photoshop.

He explain how to set the colors in color settings. He also taught how to create our own settings in color settings. He explain about the working spaces and color spaces. Dot gain is how a small dot can become bigger dot.He also explain the color management policies. We can save our own color settings in photoshop and we can also load it when the settings is different or they have changes in color settings.

And thats all for today.

November 13,2013

Our subject for this day is Principles of Design and Color Theory. And guess who is our professor? Our professor for this subject is Mr.Rey Mendoza. He is a part time professor here in Lyceum Laguna and he is also a businessman.
What I have learned for this day? He introduced all the lessons that we're gonna tacle for this semester. But I learned today is how to a solve a problem. There our 3 questions that  learned today first question is What is your goal? We should know our goal first. The second question is Who is your audience? And third question is  What is your budget and timeline?
I expect in this class or subject that I will learned many things about designs and color.  I expect that in this subject, it will help to improve our skills in designing. And I expect that we would learn and experience that we haven't experience before.

International Center for Communication Studies (ICCS)

Last Sunday, September 1,2013, We attend the ICCS held at AFP theater Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City, Philippines. We were given lectures on Investigative Journalism from the guest speakers. The guest speakers are Ms. Marites Danguilan Vitug, Mr. Ed Lingao and Ms.Rowena C. Paraan.

Some Lectures I learned at the International Center for Communication Studies.

Be curious, Research, online and office, old-fashioned leg work and always get the other side even if they snub you. It was the lesson given by Ms. Marites Danguilan Vitug. If you want to be a journalist you should have curiosity. You should be curious. You should explore and observe. You should experience something new that you don't usually do. Editors should be very strict in observing and implementing ethical standards. You should be prepared to write about anything. Once you write a story, make people enjoy reading it or listening. You should check your spellings and grammars once you write stories.

Research, online and office. Don't just read newspaper. Watch television, listen to radio news or read magazines. See all the stories, it can help it to make your new story. Journalist should make the public understand that bribes are a no-no. The stories should be well searched. The stories should rich in context and perspective. You talk to people and you listen to them. Always get the other side even if the snub you. Don't be afraid to ask "stupid" questions. You should ask and don't be afraid to ask. Ask people to know what they felt about on the event. Let them explain their words and their story. It gives you more ideas to your story or news.

According to Mr. Ed Lingao, The usual perception are the bulaga camera, hidden camera and confronting camera. Hidden camera is to film people without their knowledge. Bulaga camera makes people surprise.Confronting camera is to entertain people. In reality, Investigative reporting is document and researched based. Investigative reporting is well searched. Investigative reporting is reached in context and perspective. Investigative reporting answers the who, what, when, where, HOW? WHY? SO WHAT ? and WHAT NEXT? The TV element: The pros and the cons is wider or more populist reach. The pros and the cons has a bigger audience. The pros and the cons is potentially stronger impact.

"Credit Alligator"

"Credit is acknowledging the ideas or other work of writers and contributors."

What is credit alligator? It is copying words or ideas from those sources without giving credit to the author. Copying others work without the permission of the owner or the author. You claim others work.

For example,Some people claim quotations or sayings. When they take quotations they don't put quotation marks to show that it is a direct quotes. When taking information or ideas in books they just copying the words but they don't change the words or they just paraphrasing the sentences.

You/We must give credit to sources of information and ideas. We should not claim others work. If we are not the one who write, we must give credit. If we/you forgot to give credit you stolen other works without their permission. Why we should give credit? So that the reader can tell what is yours and what is someone else. To show where you get information from. We should use our own words.

Responsible Netizenship

What is Netizenship? Is a person actively involved in online communities. Internet user. A net "citizen".

There have been many people use internet. Even little children already know how to access internet immediately nowadays. So the parents should not train their child to use the internet. Parents should limit their child to use the internet. The Internet has some positive aspects but there are also negative aspects to the information highway. More teens use internet than adults. Me as a teenager, most of the time I use internet I play games, chat with my friends, listen music and etc. I use internet to search my assignments or research paper and school works.

We internet users, we should know our limitations when we use internet. We know what is right and wrong. For me, we should reduce the use of internet. In that way we can also conserve electricity.Maybe, we simply use internet if we have something important to do. Also, Many students will be lazy to do their school works when we abused to use internet. Internet addiction is negative aspects of the internet such as exposure to sexually explicit material and online victimization including harassment or cyber bullying and sexual solicitation. Government should enforce law that cyber bullying, sexual solicitation and harassment are prohibited on the internet. Anyone who is caught shall be punished.

Intellectual property rights are the rights given to persons over the creations of their minds. They usually give the creator an exclusive right over the use of his/her creation for a certain period of time. Taking the works of others without the permission of the owner is stealing or called plagiarism. Before we simulate the works of others we should seek permission first.

Traditional Media Versus New Media

Traditional Media Versus New Media

"What is important to us as we contrast new media and traditional media in a digital world is to understand the
key words used in the foregoing. They are manipulate, converge, and instant, whether referring to accessed
information or to transmitted information."

What is traditional media?Traditional Media has been used for years in the forms of advertising, sales promotions, public relations and direct marketing. It can encompass television, radio, newspapers, magazines and books.

Why use Traditional Media? People are tends to be traditionalist.Consumers crave variety.Consumers require reinforcement.
How does sparkable create traditional media? Print,Our graphic and marketing professionals create customized ads and marketing collateral that distinguish your company from the rest of the crowd.Radio,We help coordinate effective radio spots to get your message out to the masses using our professional, studio quality audio equipment.Television,We take advantage of our in-house media studio to create effective and lasting ads to reach your desired audience.

What is new media?New Media, A generic term for the many different forms of communication that are made possible through the use of computer technology.
New media implies that the data communication is happening between desktop and laptop computers and handhelds such as PDAs and the media they take from data from, such as compact discs and floppy disks.
New media includes: Web sites. streaming audio and video, chat rooms, e-mail, online communities, web advertising, DVD and CD-ROM Media, Virtual reality environments, integration of digital data with the telephone, such as Internet telephony, digital cameras and mobile computing.
There are a lot of advantages of new media. We have many options of communicating. We can directly call people using skype, yahoo messenger, ooVoo, and etc over the internet. We can create blogs like this.
There are also a lot of disadvantages of new media. We spend a lot of time on social networking websites like facebook, twitter, tumblr and etc.And plagiarism. It is easy to get one's work without everyone noticing it because the internet is so huge, not everyone can get through it thoroughly to check if a person's write up is just a stolen idea from another. but be in the traditional media, more people will know whether that idea was just copied from a movie a show or magazine. Everything has good and bad effect.

What is communication? How will life be without it?

What is communication?

Communication is the act of conveying information for the purpose of creating a shared understanding. It’s something that humans do every day. The word “communication” comes from the Latin “communis,” meaning “to share,” and includes verbal, non-verbal and electronic means of human interaction. Scholars who study communication analyze the development of communication skills in humans and theorize about how communication can be made more effective.

Communication spans a broad, rich array of subjects, including sociology, psychology, philosophy, political science, linguistics, history, literature, criticism and rhetoric. Although much of the field’s subject matter is theoretical in nature, communication studies have proven applicable to business, film, theater, composition, advertising, education, foreign policy and computer science.

How will life be without it?

For me, Without communication, Life is difficult.Life is like without light.Life would be a struggle.Because we use communication to express opinion, relate to others, share feelings, socially connect and to communicate with other people. It is difficult for people to say what they want to say.We can't exchange information to other people. It wouldn't be able to specify your wants or needs. Everything would be done extremely inefficiently because of the lack of sharing of thoughts.  I can't imagine how life would be.
